Too Good for Jesse. TG Raubenheimer continues his assault on the draw and indeed on his fellow Central Gauteng players. This time it was Jesse Engelbrecht who fell victim. TG managed a recovery from 2-0 down, managed to swing the momentum in his favour and never looked back. The other 3 quarter's were all according to seeding with no games dropped by the seeds. Setting up some great matches for the semi's. TG faces Rodney Durbach while Steve Coppinger plays Clinton Leeuw once again.
In the Women's tournament 2 upsets accounted for 5/8 seed Vivienne Doeg and Sonika Fritz who were beaten by Leora Greenwood and Jay Le Roux respectively. Leora's win marks the first KZN presence in the quarter finals of Ladies' Nationals in almost 10 years. Angie Clifton-Parks overcame Adel Weir in a marathon 5 sets. A great win for Angie who will now face 2nd seed Milnay Louw in the quarter finals. The match of the evening tonight is sure to be Siyoli Lusaseni against Di Argyle.
